Section Head – Marine Vessel

• Lead the implementation of comprehensive assessment and monitoring of the marine environment.
• Implements marine conservation activities in line with project action plans this includes species conservation and sustainable fisheries work.
• Implements mangrove conservation, sustainable fisheries and livelihoods improvement initiatives.
• Provide support to the local and federal government agencies, academia and strengthen national scientific capabilities.
• Serve as a representative of the marine environment on media in support of science, policy and behavioral change for all in the UAE.
• Lead the development and implementation of the research vessel’s operational and scientific research plan.
• Lead the coordination, partnership and cooperation with all divisions within the TMBS Sector, government agencies, national institutions, scientific institutions and research centers in and outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to achieve the UAE’s marine and fisheries research needs.
• Manage and support the planning, maintenance, Management and logistics of the Marine Research Vessel section.
• Responsible for Environment, Health, Safety and risk assessment of all staff within the Marine Research Vessel section.
• Perform any other duties as requested by the reporting manager.
