The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing project costs and contractual processes to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. This role plays a key part in maintaining project profitability, controlling expenditures, and supporting successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities
- Measure and price works based on contract drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities
- Manage post-contract activities including interim payments, final accounts, and variations
- Prepare and review commercial and contractual correspondence
- Advise on contractual matters and ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Monitor contractor performance and resource allocation
- Audit contractor payments and ensure valuation accuracy
- Track work progress and maintain records of completed works
- Prepare variation orders and day work calculations
- Monitor project cost estimates and maintain expenditure records
- Review and negotiate claims and prepare settlement agreements
- Coordinate with project teams and monitor commercial activities
- Prepare financial reports and monthly statements for management
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract administration
- Experience in cost control, claims management, and contract negotiation
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and commercial documentation
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
