Overview Of The Role:
- The Sales Assistant at Ace Hardware is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing store environment to enhance customer shopping experiences. The role involves actively engaging with customers to drive sales, utilizing product knowledge and selling techniques. The position requires operating the POS system efficiently, managing inventory displays, and ensuring accurate pricing and ticketing. Success in this role is measured by meeting individual store targets and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Provide high-level customer service both internal and external.
- Be aware of product categories to assist and advise customers professionally.
- Operate the point of sales system when required.
- Maintain high accuracy in all transactions and follow cash operation procedures.
- Actively learn about product uses and benefits to advise customers.
- Increase revenue through add-on sales by recommending appropriate products.
- Assist with the receiving and display of goods according to procedures.
- Ensure product availability for customer purchase.
- Comply with in-store procedures for pricing and ticketing.
- Ensure customers are aware of product prices and protect against loss due to incorrect pricing.
- Apply Merchandising Principles to maintain a corporate image and attractive store layout.
- Initiate a cleaning program for assigned department to keep the store clean and tidy.
- Assist in events such as stocktake, new store openings, and product launches.
- Participate in seasonal launches as required.
- Proficient in operating POS systems and handling transactions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement.
- Ability to learn and apply product knowledge for sales enhancement.
- Attention to detail in maintaining store standards and inventory accuracy.
- Completion of secondary school education.
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
- Strong positional understanding of retail operations.
- Ability to perform concrete tasks and report issues to higher management.
