The Associate Director is responsible for leading transport and mobility assignments including TIS and TMP, masterplanning, traffic engineering, parking, and transport modelling projects. The role provides strategic advice, manages multidisciplinary teams, oversees proposals and delivery, and represents AECOM with clients and authorities while ensuring technical excellence and predictable outcomes.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead transport and mobility projects with strong technical and commercial governance
  • Act as project director or project manager for transport planning tasks and programs
  • Lead TIS and TMP, masterplanning, traffic engineering, planning, and parking projects
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and departmental policies, particularly in the UAE and KSA
  • Develop detailed methodologies and provide strategic, data-led advice to clients
  • Prepare and oversee technical and financial proposals and manage delivery through to completion
  • Produce and deliver client presentations and reports integrating multidisciplinary inputs
  • Coordinate with other business lines on complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Review internal processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency and implement enhancements
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge through forums and professional programs
Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen capability and performance
  • Plan, direct, and deliver services in accordance with procedures and legislation
  • Represent AECOM to government departments, agencies, and external bodies
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance AECOM's transport planning services, tools, and capabilities
  • Promote best practices and ensure knowledge sharing across the team
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience leading transport and mobility projects in the Middle East
  • Strong understanding of the UAE and KSA transport planning and regulatory environment
  • Proven leadership capability within multidisciplinary consulting teams
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
