This role is critical in managing on-site execution of utility infrastructure systems, ensuring all engineering, construction, and commissioning activities meet technical standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Resident Engineer drives coordination across disciplines while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance.Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary site representative for all infrastructure and utility works including water, sewerage, stormwater, electrical, telecom, and gas systems
- Oversee daily construction activities ensuring alignment with approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards
- Coordinate across multiple utility disciplines and integrate works with roads, structures, and civil infrastructure
- Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, and inspection plans
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of all utility networks ensuring compliance and documentation accuracy
- Conduct inspections, identify non-conformance issues, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations, international standards, and project quality requirements
- Lead HSE initiatives, monitor site safety practices, and mitigate risks related to excavation and utility works
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities for approvals, inspections, and permits
- Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular progress reports with risk analysis and mitigation strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline, with advanced qualifications preferred
- 12 to 15 years of experience in infrastructure and utility projects with strong site supervision exposure
- Proven experience as Resident Engineer or in a senior engineering leadership role
- Strong knowledge of UAE codes, standards, and authority requirements
- Ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary construction environments
- Strong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills under project pressure
- Infrastructure and utilities project management
