The Quantity Surveyor plays a critical role in managing project costs, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting financial decision-making throughout the construction lifecycle. This role contributes to maintaining profitability, controlling risks, and ensuring transparent commercial operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and price works based on drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities
  • Manage post-contract activities including interim payments, final accounts, and variations
  • Prepare and review contractual correspondence and commercial documentation
  • Advise on contract terms, risks, and compliance requirements
  • Monitor contractor performance and resource allocation from a commercial perspective
  • Audit contractor payments and ensure accuracy of submitted valuations
  • Track project costs and maintain expenditure records
  • Prepare variations, claims, and day-work assessments
  • Negotiate and finalize claim settlements with contractors
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and cost forecasts
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure commercial alignment
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in infrastructure or construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of pre and post-contract administration
  • Experience handling claims, variations, and contract negotiations
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and contract documents
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
