The Consultant ENT Surgeon Head and Neck Trauma is responsible for diagnosing and managing complex ENT and trauma cases, ensuring safe surgical intervention, comprehensive patient care, and optimal recovery outcomes.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage ENT conditions with focus on trauma and head and neck surgery
- Perform emergency and elective procedures including tracheostomies and management of penetrating neck injuries
- Conduct surgical management of facial trauma and complex ENT conditions
- Provide peri-operative care and ensure patient safety throughout treatment
- Collaborate with trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and critical care teams
- Lead emergency response for ENT trauma cases
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
- Participate in audits, CME activities, and quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior doctors and contribute to clinical research
- Medical degree with specialization in ENT or Otolaryngology
- Board certification such as FRCS, CCT, or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of post-specialty experience in ENT surgery with trauma focus
- Strong expertise in head and neck surgical procedures
- Proven experience managing emergency and trauma cases
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
