We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Power & Energy (Dry Utilities) to join our growing Energy team in Abu Dhabi, reporting directly to the Regional Director - Energy.This role will play a key part in strengthening our Transmission & Distribution capability in the UAE, supporting major infrastructure developments including dry utilities packages, and engaging with key authorities such as RTA, TAQA, and DEWA.The successful candidate will lead the design and coordination of complex electrical infrastructure systems, ensuring compliance with authority requirements while delivering high-quality, integrated solutions across multidisciplinary projects.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and delivery of transmission and distribution systems, including MV/LV networks, substations, and utility infrastructure
  • Coordinate with authorities (RTA, DEWA, TAQA, DMT) to secure approvals and ensure compliance
  • Deliver road lighting and traffic signal designs in line with CIE and UAE standards
  • Manage utility coordination, NOCs, and power supply applications across project phases
  • Support 132kV transmission line and OHTL design, including ROW and clearance requirements
  • Review and specify cable installation methodologies (duct banks, HDD, thrust boring, direct buried systems)
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (roads, drainage, structures, telecoms, ITS)
  • Contribute to technical proposals, bids, and client engagement activities
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in power and energy / dry utilities design
  • Strong experience in UAE infrastructure projects and authority approvals
  • Mandatory experience working with RTA and major utilities (TAQA, DEWA, DMT, SEC)
Proven background in:
  • Transmission & distribution systems (MV/LV, substations, OHTL)
  • Road lighting and traffic signal systems
  • Utility coordination and permitting processes
  • Strong understanding of:
  • CIE lighting standards
  • Cable routing and installation methods
  • Power supply applications and NOC processes
  • Ability to manage technical delivery, stakeholder coordination, and project risks
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
