The Estimator - Infrastructure and Roads is responsible for preparing cost estimates and supporting project planning activities for infrastructure developments in Dubai, UAE. This role contributes to project success by ensuring accurate cost projections, identifying risks, and supporting commercial decision-making.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Review takeoffs prepared by team members for accuracy and completeness
- Develop work breakdown structures to define project scope and cost elements
- Prepare detailed bases of estimate including labor, materials, and equipment costs
- Deliver comprehensive cost estimates aligned with project requirements and timelines
- Apply parametric and historical data for high-level cost forecasting
- Use bottom-up and top-down estimation techniques for different project phases
- Develop scope sheets and request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain and update cost databases using project and historical data
- Analyze contract risks and assess potential cost impacts
- Support estimation teams and provide guidance to junior estimators
- Review contract documents to ensure compliance with cost and scope requirements
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver accurate and competitive estimates
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or infrastructure estimation
- Experience in roads, bridges, and tunnel projects is essential
- Strong understanding of estimating techniques and project cost analysis
- Familiarity with construction contract documents and specifications
- Experience with estimating software and cost databases
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, AutoCAD, Microstation, and CostX or similar
