This role supports the estimating function by preparing cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and assisting in proposal development. The Associate Estimator contributes to accurate budgeting and competitive bidding, helping secure infrastructure and construction projects.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare material takeoffs from engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Review and validate quantity takeoffs to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Develop work breakdown structures to define project scope and deliverables
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, and equipment
- Support preparation of basis of estimate documentation including assumptions and exclusions
- Use historical data and parametric analysis to develop cost projections for projects
- Apply bottom-up and top-down estimating methods for different project stages
- Prepare scope sheets and request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Support risk analysis by identifying potential cost and schedule exposures
- Assist in maintaining cost databases and historical project records
- Collaborate with estimating teams to deliver accurate and competitive project estimates
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 1 year of experience in estimating or cost analysis within construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience in roads, bridges, or tunnel projects is preferred
- Familiarity with estimating software and project control tools
- Understanding of construction contracts, drawings, and specifications
- Strong analytical and communication skills
